What to use for BICYCLES (Cyclists)
High pressure can force water through seals directly into bearings (bottom bracket, wheel hubs, headset) and wash out the necessary lubricant.
- Special bike stand: Some modern car washes have dedicated stands in the boxes where you can secure the bike by the wheel or frame. This way the bike does not lie on the ground and does not get scratched.
- Active foam / Shampoo (Pre-wash): Apply foam to the bike from a sufficient distance and let it act. It helps to soak off dried mud from the frame and cassette.
- Final rinse (Osmotic water) from a distance of at least 1 meter: Hold the pressure gun very far away. Never spray water directly and closely on the bottom bracket, shock absorbers, fork, wheel hubs, and e-bike display/battery. Just gently "shower" the bike from above at an angle.
